We’re scaling our product and need an engineering-minded leader who loves people-operations as much as clean code. You’ll own the end-to-end hiring funnel—from crafting eye-catching job ads to running paid trial engagements—so we can hire the best engineers.

What you’ll do

  • Write magnetic job descriptions that speak to senior ICs, EMs, and niche specialists.

  • Design realistic screening exercises tailored to each role’s stack.

  • Run a lightweight recruiting loop

    • Partner with our in-house recruiter on top-of-funnel outreach.

    • Direct-source the occasional purple-squirrel yourself.

  • Interview & evaluate candidates (resume triage, tech screens, culture chats).

  • Invent challenging paid “challenge projects.”

    • Define scope, success metrics, and deliverables.

  • Manage trial week engineers

    • Provide onboarding docs, pick meaningful tickets, unblock trial engineers, and review their code.

  • Give hiring recommendations to the engineering leadership team—complete with rubric scores, code-quality notes, and trial-week retros.

  • Maintain candidate relationships—especially referrals—so great people stay excited about us.

You might be a great fit if

  • Engineering credibility. 5-8 yrs building production software and 2-4 yrs leading teams or hiring loops.

  • People-first mindset. You coach politely, unblock quickly, and love turning good engineers into great teammates.

  • Assessment craft. You can spot elegant code, design objective rubrics, and debate trade-offs with any Staff-level dev.

  • Process builder. You iterate on funnels, track pass-through metrics, and know when to add (or remove) steps.

  • Excellent communicator. Clear writing, concise async updates, and a knack for making candidates feel valued.

Our hiring process:

  • 40 minute screening exercise (show proficiency so we know you can judge the quality of candidate’s code)

  • 30 minute chat with our CTO

  • Work with us for a paid week helping us hire engineers

  • We’re growing gangbusters. All revenue-backed, low churn.

  • Raised a $20M Series-A a few months ago. Very low burn.

  • Take the time you need PTO (4 weeks-ish, but we don’t keep track)

  • $150k-$240k/yr depending on experience

  • Based in SLC, Utah

  • Fully remote OK. We’d like it if you’d fly in occasionally to get to know you.
